Owen Field Map Watch (1949)
Owen Field Map Watch by Row One
Row One™ Brand vintage sports art watches are designed from authentic historic non-copyright sports images. This watch face design was created from an authentic 1949 Owen Field Map.
The History
Owen Field on the University of Oklahoma campus in Norman, Oklahoma is named after coach Bennie Owens. Owens helped raise money to build the stadium and the field was named after him in the 1920's. In 1949, Bud Wilkinson's Oklahoma Sooner football team went undefeated and had an 11-0 record. The map on the watch face design shows Asp Avenue and Jenkins Street, main roads on the University of Oklahoma campus. The words "Owen Field" appear in the middle of the design. This watch has a classy look and is a great gift idea for University of Oklahoma alumni or Oklahoma Sooner football fans.
